Lyrics-Challenged!

Are you ready for a good laugh??
Ok, so I downloaded the piano music for Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" and sat down to play. It had great chords but would have sounded better with a cello playing along! Anyway, I decided to sing along and suddenly it hit me as I sat there looking at the correct lyrics - I had been singing nearly EVERY lyric completely wrong!

Here are the correct lyrics to the first part:

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sweep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

My words:
I used to rule the world
See the guy and yeah the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
See the streets I used to roam

Correct words:
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

My words:
I used to roll the rice
Feel the fear in my enemy size
Wicked in the crown a sing now
The oh king is dead long live the queen

Correct words:
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

My words:

One minute I held the key
The next door closed on me
And I discovered that my past is gone
And the pillow of sand, pillow of sand

Correct words:
I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

My words:
I hear generations of bells are ringing
Rolling cattle of choirs and singing
Be my hero, my son and see oh,
A missionary’s on a far and field
For some reason I can’t explain
Once you go there was never, never in all this world
But that was when I ruled the world

Not even close!! Hahahaha!

Summertime Summertime Sum Sum Summertime!

I have been too busy to blog lately...absolutely loving the time with my kiddos. Here are a few words that come to mind when I think of summer in our backyard:
pool
sunscreen
bug spray
wet towels - everywhere!
wet bathing suits - everywhere!
kids scratching one another's bug bites
hearing "watch me" and "look mom!" calls from the pool
"let's race"
"how long can you stay under?"
"let's do flips, jumps, dives, back flips, somersaults"
"Cannon-ball!!!"
ice pops
burgers and dogs on the grill
blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, watermelon, peaches
iced coffee
sun tea
summer reading club
swim team/meets
late bed times
picnics
swings and slides and monkey bars
tanned skin
white bum-bums
dance parties on the deck

So if I don't update my blog for awhile, you'll know where I am.
